A portion of the Asian Festival will include the Heritage India Festival, an award-winning festival that celebrates the culture, cuisines and colors of the South Asian subcontinent.
Conceptualized and managed by Rushhi Entertainment and originally held over a decade ago in Montgomery County, Maryland, the Heritage India Festival has become nationally-renowned as the premier festival celebrating South Asia.
In addition to being a seasonal mainstay of the greater Washington area with two annual festivals (spring and fall), the festival has been held across the nation, including New York and New Jersey, San Francisco, Orange County, Atlanta and Chicago.
This year's festival will feature dozens of exhibitors offering South Asian apparel, arts and handicrafts, gold and costume jewelry, books, DVDs and music, spices and snacks, as well as a plethora of family-friendly activities.
Specifically, the festival will feature cultural performances by participants of all ages from the largest dance schools in the area, local South Asian bands performing traditional and Bollywood music, an Asian Spelling Bee. Additionally, the Dance Masti competition will be held at the festival. The competition - the biggest such event in the area - brings together top dance teams from the area competing for prizes and honors.

The festival will also feature top area restaurants offering gastronomical delights from South Asia, including street food, desserts and specialties from across the subcontinent.
Finally, a key ingredient in the festival includes children's activities, including kite, diya (lantern), t-shirt and face painting, quizzes and games, and more.
